Look at all the Shelby clones. When everythings been apart you never ever know exactly what got switched out throughout the process. It's a high option car with the very best color combination! Exactly what makes a K is the factory Shelby type drive train and suspension. I've had early Shelbys and it's the exact same excellent driving experience! I purchased this automobile from a mustang collector in Sarasota Florida. The vehicle had been stripped to bare metal and brought back correctly about 12 years ago. The totally original 50,000 mile drivetrain continues to be untouched. It still runs perfectly and is extremely fast. All-time low of the vehicle has not been steam cleaned and repainted that outrageous "red oxide". I'm unsure where all that came from, however it's definitely not initial. The automobiles had extremely little oxide guide revealing and it was much darker than exactly what people are spraying. The cars had a touch of body color revealing and the rest of the chassis was sprayed with body shuts, a kind of undercoat. And sprayed heavy in all 4 wheel wells. Back to the drivetrain. The initial patina is on all parts. Nothing has been wrenched or taken apart. Nothing has been steamed, blasted, scrubbed or refinished in anyhow. "ALL" of the original manufacturing facility part tags are still in location on the engine, the transmission and the rear axle. The transmission code is H.P. 289 Close ratio. This sturdy unique top loader was only used in Hipo's. The 9" is it's initial date coded bottle neck with 3:50 ratio. On the engine, the heads, manifolds, the distributer all match. Naturally the block itself has it's initial vin stamp. See images. It also has it's original door vin-tag, not a repo. The only non initial piece is the carb. It has a replacement manual choke Holley. This carb. works so well and runs so excellent I see no need to remove it. It also sports it's initial styled steel wheels and rally pack, not repos. It likewise has factory disc brakes. It has a genuine Cobra steering wheel [a lot easier to turn] and the very best initial style '65 Cobra valve covers from Tony Branda. Likewise has an appropriate battery, not simply a silly" topper" The paint is still in lovely shape. Certainly a high quality restoration. No dents, rust, dents, chips, breaking, pealing, fading, shrinking, gurgling, etc, etc! Appears like it was done last year. Partially due to the care I've given it. Chrome and stainless are excellent. Likewise, every panel fits completely! You can take one finger and click close the hood, trunk and either door! It stays covered and in the heated garage connected to my home. It Rarely heads out. According to the real miles title it has only been driven 2581 in the last 11 years. The convertible is by far the rarest K code. Estimates are just a few hundred real ones left, out of roughly 1000 brand-new. Right here's your chance. I've just turned 65 and it's time to reorganize a few things in my life.
